We’re smack dab in the middle of yet another exciting world cup. This
year, teams took their talents to South America to brace the Brazilian
heat, all while keeping the cup close within their sites.
But what do these futbol (soccer) stars do in their off time? They
collect cars, of course. Albeit with the million dollar contracts and
all. So here’s a look at 5 famous futbollers and their many rides about
town:
Lionel Messi – Maserai GranTurismo MC Stradale
Proving to be one of this year’s stars (obviously), the Argentinean
forward has a knack for sharp shooting in the upper corner. But that’s
no match for his sharp ride — a Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale.
The 4.7-liter V8 pushes out somewhere near 450 horsepower. All with a price tag of $143,000.
Wayne Rooney – Overfinch Range Rover
While his team may already be out of the running for the cup, Wayne
Rooney still gets to go home to this amazing ride. It’s a custom Range
Rover done up by Rover specialists Overfinch.
Christiano Ronaldo – BMW M6/Lamborghini Aventador
Portugal’s main man on the field also has a knack for expensive rides
off the field too. His last-gen BMW M6 still pushes out 500+ horsepower
from a V10.
His Lamborghini Aventador, well, with its 700 horsepower, that’s on a whole nother level of performance.
Mario Balotelli – Audi R8/Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale
Italy’s Balotelli may not be the most liked futbol star, but us gear
heads can get behind his dynamic duo of rides. A beautiful all black
Audi R8 and a handsome GranTurismo MC Stradale are enough to make us say
mamma mia!
Fernando Torres – Aston Martin DB9
Like England, the former cup champs from Spain didn’t see much of the
field this year. But hey, Fernando Torres still has a multi-million
dollar mansion and an Aston martin DB9 to go back to. So there’s that.
David Beckham – Jeep Wrangler/Porsche 911 Turbo/Rolls-Royce Ghost
Beckham may be more of a business man these days than he is a soccer
player. But the former English star racked up enough contracts to amass
one impressive car collection. From Rolls to Porsche to Jeep, the man
has it all. Not to mention Victoria Beckham. Yowza.
Clint Dempsey – Ford F-150 Raptor
Clint may be the highest paid player on the U.S. roster, but that
doesn’t mean he can’t channel his American spirit with a badass Ford
Raptor. His custom Raptor though was done up by Northwest Auto Salon to
be one of the baddest pickups around.
Andres Iniesta – Bugatti Veyron
Although he and teammate
Fernando Torres are no longer on the playing field for this year’s cup,
Andres Iniesta gets to go home to a 1,200 horsepower supercar of epic
proportions.
