PUBLIC NOTICE
Admission for March/April 2017 Intake through Central Admission System (CAS)
The National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) is a statutory body established under the National Council for Technical Education Act, Cap. 129, to oversee and coordinate the provision of technical education and training in Tanzania. Under the establishing Act, in order to attain and maintain the status of a training provider, all institutions are required to be registered, accredited and have their curricula approved by the Council. Institutions are not allowed to admit students and start offering any programme without the approval of the Council.
The Council has received requests from Technical Institutions offering Certificate and Diploma programmes to have March/April 2017 Intake for the academic year 2017/2018. The Council, has therefore decided to make a public notice to inform all Institutions offering Certificate and Diploma programmes intending to have March/April 2017 Intake for the academic year 2017/2018 to submit their intention. The March/April 2017 Intake is meant for Certificate and Diploma programmes only.
The request for having the March/April 2017 Intake should clearly specify:
- The number of students enrolled in the requested Certificate and/or Diploma programme who are registered as first year for 2016/17 academic year;
- Capacity of the institution in the requested programme;
- Empty slots that need to be filled in order for the institution to acquire full capacity; and
- Whether the college has enough infrastructure and staff to manage two intakes.
Please be informed further that, Central Admission System will be open for applications from 23rdJanuary 2017 to 6th March 2017.
The submission of notice of intention and commitment for having March/April 2017 Intake for the academic year 2018/2019 should reach the Council by 15th January 2017.
