Call for Applications into Undergraduate Programs 2014/2015

Muslim University of Morogoro (MUM) invites suitably qualified Tanzanian and non-Tanzanian candidates to apply for admission into various degree programmes shown below for the academic year 2014/2015.

Candidates must fill in the Application Forms, give full particulars of citizenship (including a copy of birth certificate), and provide photo copies of academic Certificates as indicated in the application forms, e.g. O’level and A ‘Level or Diploma, etc. Dully completed Application Forms should be submitted to the Muslim University of Morogoro either in person, or by mail, using the following address:-

Please note that Muslim University of Morogoro continues to use the conventional admission system of applying directly to the University.

NB: The deadline for submitting Application Forms is 31^ST August, 2014.

Admission Requirements

Candidates who wish to study at Muslim University of Morogoro (MUM) may apply through the following categories:

Category A: Direct Entry Qualification - Minimum Requirement:

• A Certificate in Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with THREE Credit passes or its equivalent certificate with FIVE passes in approved subjects appropriate to the programme applied for, obtained prior to sitting for Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE). For details of required qualification and combination for degree programmes, see the table below:

4.	Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication	Arts and Humanities	Two principal passes, with a pass in English or a credit in History at O-Level education	2.0	3 years
5.	Bachelor of Business Studies	Business Studies	Two principal passes one of which  should be in business subjects, economics  or mathematics	2.0	3 years
6.	Bachelor of Law with Shariah	Law and Shariah	Two principal passes in History, Kiswahili, English, Arabic, Geography, Islamic Knowledge	2.0	4 years
7.	Bachelor of Arts  in Languages & Interpretation	Arts and Humanities	Two principal passes in Kiswahili, Arabic, French, English and any other language  offered, in the  Faculty	2.0	3 years

NB: The above points in ACSEE are based on the following scales:

ACSEE BEFORE 2014

A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2, E = 1, S= O.5.

ACSEE 2014

A = 5, B+ = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1, E= O.5.

Category B: Equivalent Qualifications - Minimum Requirement:

• Applicants eligible for equivalent admission for an undergraduate degree programme must hold one of the following qualifications:

1. Ordinary Diploma of an overall average not below C or a GPA of 2.7
2. Academic Ordinary Diploma obtained from higher learning institution.
3. University Certificate of an outstanding performance

In addition of the above qualifications, applicants must have THREE Credits or FOUR passes in their Certificates of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE).
