Introduction
The Government of the Republic of Mauritius is offering scholarships for undergraduate studies in public tertiary education institutions in Mauritius.
Applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians to apply for undergraduate programs tenable in the Republic of Mauritius for 2014/2015 academic year in the following areas of specializations:-
§ Medicine,
§ Pharmacy
§ Engineering,
§ Science and Technology,
§ Oil and Gas,
§ Agriculture,
§ Telecommunications and,
§ Geology.
1. Financial conditions of the scholarship
1.1 The scholarship will cover:-
(a) A monthly living allowances,
(b) Tuition fees and
(c) Air ticket (economy class) by the most economical route to and from Mauritius at the start and the end of the studies.
1.2 The duration of the scholarship will be for a maximum of four (4) years depending on the course duration.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Students must have Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education passed division one or two or at an equivalent level acceptable to the scholarship panel
2.2 Candidates should be resident citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania.
2.3 Candidates should not be more than 25 years of age at the date of application.
3. Procedures for Submitting Applications
3.1 Application form can be downloaded in the MoEVT website www.moe.go.tz
3.2 Candidate should submit their application forms and a copy of the following documents:
(a) Birth certificate; and
(b) Certified copies of certificates, of Secondary School results (“O” and “A” level, Applicants who completed their studies in 2014 should submit certified Examination transcript.
3.3 Applicant should submit medical report and HIV /AIDS -free certificate.
4. Other conditions
4.1 Self-financing candidates already studying in Mauritius in an undergraduate programme before July 2014 will not be converted into studentship.
4.2 The scholarship holder would be required to sign an agreement to return to his/her home country as soon as the studentship comes to an end.
4.3 The candidate, once selected, should:-
(a) Be available to commence their academic studies in Mauritius by the start of the academic year 2014/2015;
(b) Be available to undertake fulltime and on-campus (not distance learning) programme;
(c) Not be in receipt of a full fee studentship from any other source; and
(d) Be able to pay any outstanding costs not covered by the scholarship.

5.2 Those who had applied earlier are not required to resubmit their application
