NACTE: PUBLIC NOTICE - ON ACTIONS TAKEN AGAINST TECHNICAL INSTITUTIONS THAT VIOLATED THE CONDITIONS IMPOSED BY THE COUNCIL

THE NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION

PUBLIC NOTICE

The National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) is a statutory body established under the National Council for Technical Education Act, Cap. 129, to oversee and coordinate the provision of technical education and training in Tanzania.  Under the establishing Act, in order to attain and maintain the status of a training provider, all institutions are required to be registered, accredited and have their curricula approved by the Council. Institutions are not allowed to start offering any programme without the approval of the Council.

The Council conducts monitoring visits to technical institutions to assess their compliance with NACTE academic quality standards in delivering the training programmes. As per Registration and Accreditation Regulations, non-compliance with any NACTE requirement is an offence. The regulations stipulate the actions to be taken for each offence. Based on findings of the Monitoring Teams, the Council is empowered to take actions against institutions that are not complying.

The Council is hereby informing the public that it has taken different actions to 48 technical institutions for various offences, committed by the same, as follows:
